Overview

In 2021, Napier-Reid Ltd. was chosen to design, manufacture and supply water treatment equipment for Energía Costa Azul (ECA) LNG, a liquefaction natural gas facility being built in Ensenada BC, Mexico.  The equipment is designed to treat the desalinated water supplied from an existing upstream desalination unit and produce demineralized water for the onsite users.

The package, mounted on a skid, includes two trains of Reverse Osmosis (RO) with an Electrodeionization (EDI) unit, each designed for a 6m3/hr production capacity with an overall 80% recovery rate. The full scope of supply includes one Clean in Place (CIP) chemical cleaning system for cleaning and sterilizing the RO and EDI unit, a lot of instruments for monitoring and controlling the system, and a PLC control panel.
