Overview

In 2019, Napier-Reid completed the supply and start-up of a demineralized water treatment package to a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project on the Gulf of Mexico. The project’s purpose is to export clean, efficient natural gas supplies from North America to Europe and Asia.

The demineralized water treatment package produces high quality demineralized water from city water. The package includes a membrane degasification unit, two Ultra Filtration (UF) trains, and two Reverse Osmosis (RO) trains with Electrodeionization (EDI) units. The system has a capacity to produce demineralized water at 200 US gallons/min.

Demineralized water is primarily used for Amine Regenerator and Tempered Water Expansion Drum. Napier-Reid designed the package to function 24 hours a day with minimal presence needed of the operator. The control system was designed to allow for fully automatic, semi-automatic, and manual operations. All treatment trains are pre-assembled into modified transport containers.
